Kids Fishing Derby at Indian Springs Park

Is your 6-12 year old interested in learning how to fish, or would they like to show off the fishing skills they already have? If yes, then get them signed up for the sixth annual Stormwater Safety Kids Fishing Derby at Indian Springs Park scheduled for Thursday, June 16th from 8:00am-Noon (Rain Date – June 30th).

We will have guides on site available to provide instruction and assist throughout the event. There will be prizes for the biggest fish, informational information before the derby, and a hotdog lunch. All fishing equipment will be provided, and all participants must be accompanied by an adult.

This FREE event (pre-registration required) is put on through a partnership of the Town of Porter Storm Water/MS4 Program and the Town of Porter Park Department with support from the Northwest Indiana Steelheaders, Town of Porter Fire Department, Town of Porter Public Works Department, BF&S Engineering, InHealth Ambulance, Siltworm, D2 Land & Water Resource, the National Park Service and the Northwest Indiana Paddlers Association.
