Contractor Licensing

The Town of Porter, and every other local community nearby, requires a Town-specific contractor license for all contractors working in Porter, including painters, roofers, remodelers, landscapers, paving companies, etc. If a contractor says that they are "licensed, bonded and insured" it is the responsibility of the property owner to ensure that they have a Porter contractor license. This protects the property owner in case of a bad outcome. Without the local license and the required bond and insurance, it is difficult or impossible to assist residents when they need help. Please ask a contractor to show you their Town of Porter license. License fees go towards providing required inspections and other services.
