Door-to-Door Soliciting

No door-to-door soliciting is permitted within the Town of Porter without a Peddler's License, which is obtained from the Porter Clerk-Treasurer's office. This includes ALL contractors, such as remodeling, roofing and paving contractors, pest control companies, tree services and similar businesses. Non-profit organizations are exempt from this requirement per town code. If you are approached by a door-to-door solicitor, please request that they show a Porter Peddler's License. If they do not provide this required license, please note the company name and contact either the Porter Police (219-926-7611) or Building Department (219-395-9921). Thank you.
